Keeper of the Flame

License Information

Description: The Keepers of the Flame are a sect of priests devoted to the worship of Raja. This exclusive brotherhood worships Raja as the embodiment of fire. A Keeper must be both strong in spirit and in arm. The brotherhood believes that a portion of the mystical fire of Raja is kept within their bodies, and upon their deaths Raja calls this portion back into the whole. The more powerful a Keeper becomes the more holy fire his body can contain for Raja. Powerful clerics or druids in the church of Raja may choose to become a Keeper of the Flame.

Class Features:
· Hit Die: D8

· Weapon and Armor Proficiency: The Keeper of the Flame is proficient with all simple weapons and with all types of armor and shields.
· Might of the Sacred Flame: The Keeper of the Flame is infused with a portion of the mystical fire of Raja. Once per day, he may unleash this supernatural power as a free action. Upon using this ability the Keeper of the Flame gains a +2 enhancement bonus to Strength and +3 temporary hit points at 1st level and radiates light as the light spell. The Keeper’s gains resistance to fire 10 and his unarmed attacks may cause fire damage while using this ability. This ability may be used an additional time per day every other level after 1st. This ability lasts for a number of rounds equal to the Keeper’s Wis bonus +1.
· Spells: Beginning at 1st level, a keeper gains the ability to cast a small number of divine spells. To cast a spell, the keeper must have a Wisdom score of at least 10 + the spell's level, so a keeper with a Wisdom of 10 or lower cannot cast spells. Keeper's bonus spells are based on Wisdom and saving throws against these spells have a DC of 10 + spell level + Wisdom modifier. A keeper prepares and casts spells just as a cleric does (though the keeper cannot lose a spell to case a cure spell in its place).
· Sacred Firefan: Beginning at 2nd level, the Keeper can emit a fan of flames as a spell-like ability once per day. This is exactly like the spell burning hands except that it causes positive energy as well as fire damage; so creatures must be resistant or immune to both to prevent damage. Further, if someone that the Keeper does not wish to harm is within the area of the FireFan, that character suffers no damage. Use the Keeper of the Flame’s class level for all spell related purposes. Undead destroyed by this spell cannot be brought back to undeath.
· Flames of Healing: By calling upon Raja, any cure spell cast by the Keeper cures an additional +1 hp per die (so a cure moderate wounds heals an additional +2, a cure serious heals an additional +3, and so on). This is a supernatural ability.
· Sacred Flame Strike: Beginning at 6th level, the Keeper can call forth a column of flame from above as a spell-like ability once per day. This is exactly like the spell flame strike except that it causes positive energy as well as fire damage; so creatures must be resistant or immune to both to prevent damage. In addition, if a creature that the Keeper does not wish to harm is within the area of the sacred flame strike, that character suffers no damage. Use the Keeper of the Flame’s class level for all spell related purposes. Undead destroyed by this spell cannot be brought back to undeath.
· Purging Flames: Beginning at 8th level, once per day, the Keeper can call upon Raja to cast one of the following spells: heal, restoration, atonement, remove curse. This is a spell-like ability.
· Sacred Firestorm: Once per day, as a spell-like ability, the 10th-level Keeper can create a powerful storm of sacred flame. This works as the spell firestorm except that it causes positive energy as well as fire damage; so creatures must be resistant or immune to both to prevent damage. Further, if someone that the Keeper does not with to harm is within the area of the firestorm, that creature suffers no damage. Use the Keeper of the Flame’s class level for all spell related purposes. Undead destroyed by this spell cannot be brought back to undeath.
